APK & XPK.

June,1984. Royale set with power sized mounted toms. Bass drum still standard size.
Rosewood finish.
October 1984. APK introduced. Finishes available are - (left top to bottom) Flame snakeskin, Walnut and Metalic Oyster. (Right, top to bottom) Rosewood, black and white. Rosewood and walnut are lacquered, the others are wraps. Black insides. Lugs are similar to the floor tom lugs used on Olympics. There is a Royale tag under the Premier badge.
1987. Lacquered finishes now called APK Excell. The set on the left is Blackwood. Rosewood is also available. Covered finishes are APK Select. The set on the right is Moonrock. Other wraps are red, black and white. Shells are "thick mahogany". The Excells have an outer ply of birch.
1988. Covered drums (left) still called APK. Lacquered drums (right) now called XPK. Both get hi-tension lugs.
1995. Both lines get small, single lugs. APK (left) have Eucalyptus & Merranti shells with black insides. XPK (right) have Eucalyptus shells with an inner and outer ply of birch. Internal finish is clear lacquer.
1998. APK replaced by Cabria.
1999. XPK gets "Quick sized" toms.
1999. Astria introduced. Same birch, eucalyptus, birch shells as XPK. As far as I can tell, Astria were XPKs with rim type mounts.
Also in 1999, the Vitria is introduced. These have maple,eucalyptus,maple shells, die-cast hoops and rims type mounts. 2000, XPK, Astria and Vitria replaced by the Artist birch and maple series.
